Nkana's three-match winning run in the transitional MTN Super League season ended on Sunday 25 October at Konkola Stadium, where Konkola Blades beat the Kitwe side 2–0. ZamFoot reported that Emmanuel Kunda put Blades ahead in the 34th minute and that Idriss Ilunga Mbombo doubled the lead three minutes after the restart with a speculative effort. Nkana coach Elijah Tana had said before the match that his side were ready for Blades, ZamFoot reported on Saturday.
In Kabwe, Green Buffaloes came away with a 2–1 win over Kabwe Warriors. Paul Mbuyi headed the army side in front in the 65th minute and Golden Mashata chipped the goalkeeper for the second in the 74th; Charles Majapa Mumba's free-kick in the 90th minute came too late for Warriors. Chirundu United took their second win in a row with a 1–0 victory at Mufulira Wanderers, Andrew Simumba scoring from a free-kick in the 27th minute.
Eagles held, and happy with a point
The weekend's Stream B leaders had already played. On Saturday 24 October Green Eagles were held 0–0 by Nkwazi, their first dropped points of the campaign, and remain top of Stream B on 10 points from four matches, ZamFoot reported. Head coach Perry Mutapa said Nkwazi had started the stronger but that his side had the better chances late on, and Nkwazi goalkeeper Mangani Banda denied Eagles a late winner. Mutapa called it two points dropped, but added that at this stadium a point was acceptable, and praised the impact of his substitutes. Eagles' next opponents are Kabwe Warriors.
Going towards the end, I think we were the team with more chances to win, so I will say two points dropped.
— Perry Mutapa, Green Eagles head coach, after the 0–0 draw with Nkwazi on Saturday 24 October, as reported by ZamFoot
Saturday's other results, reported by Lusaka Brief on Sunday 25 October, had FC MUZA beating champions Power Dynamos 1–0 to lead Stream A, with big wins for Trident, Zanaco and ZESCO United. ZamFoot's Sunday report did not publish updated standings for the transitional season.
