The Kitwe derby was played in Ndola and produced nothing to separate the sides. Power Dynamos and Nkana drew 0–0 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday 31 October in matchweek six of the MTN Super League's transitional season, and News Diggers' account of the first half has the chances falling to Nkana's Lazarous Kambole, denied by Willard Mwanza after Charles Zulu's cutback in the tenth minute, and to Power's Joshua Mutale, whose shot in the 18th forced a full-stretch save. ZamFoot records that Power have scored four goals this season, the joint-lowest in Stream A with Nchanga Rangers, and that Nkana have now gone two games without a goal since their winning run ended at Konkola.
It was that kind of Saturday. Of six fixtures, five were drawn and four of those finished 0–0: Green Eagles against Kabwe Warriors, ZESCO United against Nkwazi, Red Arrows against Chirundu United and FC MUZA against Nchanga Rangers. Kansanshi Dynamos and NAPSA Stars shared four goals in Solwezi, Nicolas Chisempele and Godfrey Binga scoring for NAPSA and Bebby Musangala and an 89th-minute Joseph Ssemujju penalty for Kansanshi. The only winners were Zanaco, 3–2 at Trident in Solwezi, where Araina Lambert scored twice and Kiala Wa Kiala once against two from Trident's Sam Sikasote.
The tables
ZamFoot's tables put FC MUZA top of Stream A on 11 points, a point ahead of Zanaco and Nkana on 10, with Konkola Blades on nine and a game in hand and Power on seven. In Stream B, Green Eagles lead on 11 from ZESCO United on nine, with Chirundu United and Green Buffaloes on eight; Buffaloes had still to play, at home to Mufulira Wanderers, second from bottom, on Sunday, a game Diggers previewed as Wanderers' search for a first win. Mufulira and Mutondo Stars occupy the relegation places in Stream B. Only the winner of each stream goes to the final play-off, which is why a weekend of draws changes less than it would in a conventional league.
Sakala in Al Majma'ah
The weekend's most productive Zambian was in Saudi Arabia. ZamFoot reports that Fashion Sakala scored Al-Fayha's equaliser with his left foot about seven minutes before half-time, after Abdulrahman Al Safari had put Al-Faisaly ahead in the 30th, then set up Jason in the 66th minute and Hugo Moura in stoppage time as Al-Fayha won 4–1 at Al Majma'ah Sports City Stadium; Ziyad Al-Sahafi had scored the second in the 57th. Sakala was named player of the match and now has three goals and two assists this season, and Al-Fayha climbed to 13th in the Saudi Pro League on 11 points.
